Painful experiences can impact how we react to the world. They can cause us to feel disconnected, stuck, overwhelmed, or unfulfilled. The ways you have been coping with these experiences may no longer working. I have a passion for working with people struggling with using substances, compulsive sexual behaviors, partner betrayal, and trauma. My approach is grounded in research with interventions that are guided by neurobiology, attachment theory, and trauma informed care. My goal as a therapist is to assist you to learning how to be more secure in yourself, connect to those you love, and to live a more values congruent life.
I offer expertise for individuals with intimacy issues, substance use, compulsive behaviors, and trauma. I specialize in working with women and people in the LGBTQI+ communities. I incorporate Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Mindfulness practices, and Harm Reduction Therapy.
My own journey through recovery and trauma has inspired my work as a therapist/ I can understand how difficult and intimidating it is to seek out help. Taking the step to seek out help take courage and vulnerability. This is truly sacred work and something I approach with the up-most integrity, confidentiality, and individualized care.
